Area sees first snow of the season

A light coating of frost and remaining flakes of snow coat rural properties east of Washburn Tuesday morning. Winter weather paid a visit to McLean County this week as a dusting of snow fell on central North Dakota. The National Weather Service advised on Friday that the first accumulation of snow this season was expected to arrive Monday, when light flurries started in the area. There was little accumulation to be observed locally, but a light covering of flakes coated much of the area through Monday evening.
