A life turned upside down

By Daniel Arens

As the new year began, it brought an entirely new perspective on life for one Stanton woman.
In January, Rosie Coffin was diagnosed with congestive heart failure.
“My heart doesn’t pump enough blood to my body,” Coffin said. “And it’s enlarged.”
Coffin didn’t expect the diagnosis. She went in to see the doctor thinking she might have a cold or bronchitis. Instead, a much more severe condition was detected.
“It was a blow to me,” she said. “My whole life got taken away from me.”
Now, Coffin’s employer and her community are reaching out to try and help her cope with the difficult journey that lies ahead.
