A ‘balancing’ act: City takes first whack at budget
Get out your calculators and sharpen your pencils, because ’tis the season for numbers crunching as the Hazen City Commission began work on their preliminary budget for 2010. In the commission’s first meeting on the preliminary budget Tuesday, Aug. 11, City Auditor Sandy Bohrer reported an estimated total taxable value of $3,280,816 in 2010, up from $3,205,161 one year ago.
