Alcohol on the streets?
The Hazen Centennial Association wants the city to allow people to carry open containers on Main Street for its celebration, an act that is usually illegal under city code.
Chairman Pat Donovan made several requests Monday during a Hazen City Commission meeting at City Hall. He asked for the commissioners to suspend the town’s open alcohol ordinance for the celebration. The committee plans to have an area for alcoholic beverages between Hazen Motors and Box’s Bar.
