Bistro reopens in Stanton

Shortly after news came that Charlie’s Bistro in Stanton would be closing, there was already discussion about the possibility of the restaurant opening again under a new leader.
Although previous owner Norman Link decided he could no longer continue himself in the leadership helm, he recognized the value the bistro served as a restaurant for Stanton. And even though initial attempts at finding a new owner proved unsuccessful, Mardi Vavra decided this was a niche she could help fill.
Vavra, who lives a few miles north of Stanton, has a background in the restaurant business, including having previously owned a little cafe in Zap.
“I kind of missed it,” she said. “I thought, ‘Stanton needs a restaurant, let’s open it’. I decided to just go for it.”
