Child care center adjusts to new normal

COVID-19 has left a lasting impact on many aspects of both national and local life. This is especially true in places where larger groups of people gather together.
A prime example of an organization affected in Hazen is the Energy Capital Cooperative Child Care Center. The center has received a strong influx of kids since it was founded three years ago, helping to meet a major area need. But the strong showing can also be a challenge when facing a virus, the primary reaction against which is to limit larger groups.
Dana Santini, director of the child care center, said the facility’s ability to separate the kids into their different ages and classes allows them to practice social distance effectively. But that doesn’t mean the center isn’t facing challenges, as parents have also been concerned about the potential for spread.
