Citizens urged to ‘prepare like last year’ for flooding
Hazen third-grader Delmar Schramm’s class picnic was snowed out in the spring of 1947. Now that he’s Hazen’s mayor, one of the last things Schramm wants to see is a tardy winter storm. Or any winter storm, for that matter, as the snow this winter is beginning to pile up and increase chances of another round of spring flooding along the Knife River and its tributaries.
