City approves sewer main cost estimate
The Hazen City Commission approved a resolution Monday evening pushing forward plans for a sewer main replacement project in the middle of Hazen. For the project, a gravity-fed sewer main running through blocks 46, 38 and 6 between Third Avenue West and Second Avenue West will be replaced. Engineering costs are projected to total about $295,000, with primary expenses being engineering design and construction estimated at $70,000, 8-inch sanitary sewer PVC pipe at a cost of $72,787, sanitary service connection projected at $50,000 and sanitary manhole estimated at $24,000.
