Commission to vote on no-use policy
Commission to vote on no-use policy

Mercer County commissioners are ready to vote on a policy that would prohibit any personal use of county equipment.
“I think between the commission and committee they spent a lot of time on this issue and in my opinion it is time to resolve it,” Commissioner Bill Tveit said. “I would propose as a commission we do that.”
The Commission voted 4-1 to draft Tveit’s proposal Aug. 21 at the County Courthouse in Stanton. The county could dismiss employees under the new policy if passed. It would exclude vehicles that are permissible and authorized by the nature of their jobs.
