Conrad applauds efforts to combat drugs
Sen. Kent Conrad looked leaders of the Mercer-McLean County Narcotics Task Force in the eye. Is the Recovery Act funding meant to curb drug use in Mercer and McLean counties being put to good use? Absolutely, was the reply. Conrad met Friday with law enforcement officials and leaders from Mercer and McLean counties to discuss a range of issues of importance to the two counties, including the utilization of more than $785,000 in federal funding to combat drug trafficking.
