Counselor awarded for life of dedication
By Daniel Arens
For over 40 years, one Hazen woman has dedicated herself to helping others who are dealing with addiction in all its various forms.
Others took notice, and this year, Darlene White was recognized for her valuable work, receiving the North Dakota Outstanding Addiction Professional of the Year Award from the North Dakota Addiction Counselors Association.
White, who works at Coal Country Community Health Center (CCCHC) in Beulah as a part time licensed addiction counselor, was presented the award March 29 at the spring conference of the addiction counselors association. Her husband Sharold Oster is also an addiction counselor, and previously received the award in 2011.
