County leaders stress energy reliability

By Daniel Arens
In person or online, a small army of state officials listened in as Mercer County leaders discussed their needs, hopes and concerns for the future.
It was the first meeting of the Mercer County Economic Development (or MCED) board in nine months. At the heart of this meeting, held last Thursday, was a discussion with the North Dakota Department of Commerce on a proactive look at the county’s economic future.
Beaver Brinkman, Beulah City Economic Developer, is the president of the MCED board now, with Buster Langowski, Hazen Community Development Executive Director, serving as vice president. They helped lead the discussion on what needs the county hopes to see addressed.
