Drug Task Force punching holes in drug traffic

The war on drugs is a plethora of battles fought every day in the United States and many of those clashes are a lot closer to home than most people might think, or even want to think.
Sadly, the cities and towns of North Dakota are not exempt from the onslaught of drugs from all over the country and world.
Locally, the Mercer/McLean County Drug Task Force is fighting the war as a collaborative network of dedicated men and women intent on having an impact on drug trafficking and distribution in both counties and the overall area.
And their efforts are starting to bear fruit. A lot of fruit.
In recent weeks, drug busts have resulted in nearly $300,000 of street value drugs being confiscated by the Task Force, including a bust in Bismarck where the Task Force worked in a joint effort with the Metro Area Narcotics Task Force.
In that bust, officers seized a large quantity of methamphetamine valued at over $200,000. Those drugs came out of Hazen to Bismarck but originated in California.
