FINALLY!!

By Lee Coleman

The long awaited paving of Main Street in Hazen is finally underway after delays pushed the project back until now.
As promised, the crews from Bituminous Paving started milling and prep work on the roads last Thursday and have been at it since then. As the milling process removes the top layer of the old asphalt, questions have been raised by citizens wanting to know where that material will end up.
According to Hazen City Auditor Monte Erhardt, the material will be reused. “We are stockpiling the material and the crews will use what they need for other repairs,” Erhardt said. “Most of it will be used for 12th Avenue between Alco and Fastenal."
