Frei discusses new fitness park for Hazen

Hazen has many parks to attract the attention of residents and visitors. Now it hopes to expand the appeal with a new addition: a fitness park.
Hazen Parks and Recreation Director Dan Frei described the addition as a “fitness playground” for those who want to enjoy the outdoors and also get exercise. The fitness center will be located at North Star II Park in northwest Hazen, and will resemble the Group Fit 1 model provided by Miracle-Recreation, a company that specializes in playground equipment.
Frei described the fitness park as a way “just to get people active and involved in the community,” and pointed out how, for example, parents with a young child could work out while watching their child at the park.
Each individual activity that makes up the fitness park has detailed instructions concerning how to use any particular piece of equipment.
