Future possibilities for Hazen’s water

By Daniel Arens
One current bill being debated at the state legislature could have a significant impact on Hazen’s infrastructure.
On Friday, House Bill 1066 (the “Prairie Dog Bill”) was passed out of committee to the North Dakota House of Representatives floor, with only one dissenting committee vote. The entire House now takes up the proposed infrastructure funding bill.
For the city of Hazen, there are some real needs that this bill could help address.
“We have some specific needs this would really help with,” Monte Erhardt, Hazen city auditor, said.
