Future uncertain for long-time Hazen sign

For over two decades, a sign along Highway 200 has informed both Hazen residents and passers-through of the activities the community provides.
This sign, located near the Hazen Middle School roughly midway between Krause’s Market to the west and the Hazen Golf Club to the east, has been a centerpiece for the town itself, and for demonstrating what the town has to offer.
Unfortunately, the sign also presents problems of safety and practicality.
Currently, the Hazen Chamber of Commerce, which helped to originally put up the sign in partnership with the city, is debating what its future should be. The primary consideration, according to Chamber Director Antoinette Heier, is one of safety.
