Giving students a taste for coding

By Daniel Arens

Hazen High School is embracing these opportunities to begin educating kids on some of these new arenas of study. Chris Harvey teaches video production classes, while Jason Helde is developing a coding curriculum in conjunction with TEALS, a Microsoft program for high school students.
At the elementary school, Principal Trevor Sinclair acts as an adviser for LEGO League, a competition that teaches programming skills to upper elementary students as they design their LEGO robot to complete various tasks on a large board.
