Gunsch announces resignation from county commission
By Daniel Arens
At the end of their most recent meeting, one Mercer County commissioner abruptly announced his intention to resign from the commission at the end of the month.
Commissioner Wes Gunsch, who was elected to the commission in 2014, asked at the start of the meeting that he be put on the agenda as a special addition at the end, where he informed the other commissioners of his intention.
“I am submitting my resignation as county commissioner to the residents of Mercer County, effective May 1, 2019,” his resignation letter stated. “I have made this decision due to health issues.”
