Habitat, agriculture and the great outdoors

It might be argued that encouraging future generations to be dedicated to land conservation is an equally vital mission of Knife River Pheasants Forever as conserving land in the here and now.
In pursuit of this goal, the local Pheasants Forever chapter once again brought 4th graders from Hazen and Beulah Elementary Schools outside for a “Pollinator Habitat Day”. Students experienced some of the attractions of the outdoors for themselves – and saw why the need to conserve those outdoors is so important.
This year, students met at Knife River Pheasants Forever member Bill Wagner’s house east of Hazen, where they were divided into four groups and rotated through four different activities. Hazen kids arrived in the morning, while Beulah students had their turn in the afternoon.
