Harvest Fest’s reluctant royalty
From tree shelterbelts, blood drives, Girl Scout camp and the hospital auxiliary turkey dinner, to the maintenance of county roads and Memorial Day services – it would be difficult to find something within Mercer County that doesn’t have Lyle or Lil Latimers’ fingerprints on it. Most of their work has been done graciously behind the scenes, and that’s just the way they like it. So, when first asked to be grand marshals of Hazen’s Harvest Fest Parade Saturday, Sept. 12, Lil said "no." But after talking it over with Lyle, she agreed to the request.
