Hazen grad encourages financial smarts for college

One former Hazen High School graduate is encouraging students to develop a plan to reduce their student loan debt, or eliminate it entirely.
Annika Caldwell, daughter of Tammie Vernon and Kent Vernon, graduated from the University of Jamestown, a private state college, debt free. When she married her husband Logan, the family had to pay off his debt, which was nearly $97,000.
Thanks to smart planning and intentional living, the Caldwells were debt free in almost 20 months, even while beginning to raise a family; they now have three daughters.
