Hazen school day back to 8:30 a.m.

The number of tardy Hazen students is about to spike.
Hazen High School principal Ed Boger confirmed at the Hazen School Board’s regular meeting Monday evening that he was able to arrange student schedules to allow the district to switch the school day back to its traditional daily schedule of 8:30 a.m.-3:15 p.m. The change will take effect the beginning of second semester on Jan. 18, 2011.
The return to normalcy follows over one month of the school day beginning at 9:25 a.m. and ending at 4:10 p.m., which was implemented in response to Mercer County’s switch from Mountain time to Central time when Daylight Saving Time ended on Nov. 7.
