Help salute Hazen's volunteer spirit
There are superheroes among us – and the Hazen Chamber of Commerce wants their identities revealed. The Chamber is seeking nominations for the Community Awards Banquet taking place Tuesday, Feb. 24 at Hazen City Hall. Nominations are being accepted for Lifetime Service Awards, Community Service Awards, Business of the Year and Citizen of the Year. Nominations are due at the Chamber office in Hazen City Hall by Wednesday, Feb. 11. Forms are available at the Chamber office, the Hazen Public Library, or online at www.hazennd.org under "Hazen Chamber of Commerce/CVB" and "online services." According to banquet committee member Mike Just, the awards banquet is an opportunity to recognize a citizen or business that works hard to make Hazen a better place. "We don’t hear much about the people who are doing things in the background," Just said. "This is a way to recognize them." The banquet, co-sponsored by the Chamber and Hazen Community Development, will be preceded Feb. 24 by HCD’s annual meeting at 4:30 p.m. at Hazen City Hall. A social will begin at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6:30 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by "Three Raven Guys," a trio consisting of Hazen’s own Duke Rosendahl. The award presentations will follow.
