Housing coming to Hazen?

Hazen could see new housing for senior citizens and essential workers.
Hazen Community Development Executive Director Buster Langowski presented a letter Monday to the City Commission during a meeting from Multifamily Capital Resources Inc. The company from Scituate, Mass., intends to build low income housing in the city.
“(Joe Armstrong) has a background in putting up multiple housing units,” Langowski said. “The one he was targeting, the one he thought would be good for Hazen, would be some senior low-income housing.”
The plans include 36 units – 33 would serve seniors and three apartments would be reserved for essential workers designated by the city. Essential workers include police, fire, education, hospital and public service workers, according to the letter.
“I am also please to be working on this very realistic, long-term development schedule with the goal of beginning construction in late spring of 2015,” Armstrong wrote in the letter.
