Instruction for all on uncontrolled bleeding

Instruction for all on uncontrolled bleeding

By Daniel Arens

When a crisis occurs, emergency responders are notified. But there is often a period of time, ranging from a couple seconds to several minutes, before these responders can get to the crisis scene.
This is the reason why proactive training for any and all people is valuable. A person may not be an EMT, but if they understand basic life-saving techniques, their presence could help prevent a problem from becoming a fatality.
A case in point is cardiopulmonary resuscitation, or CPR. Many people know how to do CPR, whether they are medical providers or not. And CPR can help prevent a tragedy, while giving valuable time for the potential victim until the emergency responders arrive.
Currently, a new stress for basic proactive care is uncontrolled bleeding. A program called “Stop the Bleed” helps provide basic information for people in helping those wounded and facing potentially fatal blood loss.
