It’s quitting time
Retirement is not new to Basin Electric Power Cooperative, but rising numbers indicate it could lose 410 employs by the end of the decade.
The company retired 53 employees in 2007 and 40 in 2008. Since then it stayed in the 40s until 2011 when it lost 62 workers. Last year 83 employees turned in their resignation. The company is on track to beat that number again this year with 39 retirees to date.
