Kemmet Takes Next Step in Serving Extension Service

By Lindsey Jo Pouliot

In early May, the NDSU Extension Service named two new District Directors, one of whom is Beulah’s own Dena Kemmet. As the District Director of the central district in North Dakota, she will oversee the Extension offices in Benson, Burleigh, Dickey, Eddy, Emmons, Foster, Kidder, LaMoure, Logan, McIntosh, Pierce, Ramsey, Rolette, Sheridan, Stutsman, Towner, and Wells Counties.
This career change comes quick on the heels of the 29th anniversary of Kemmet’s employment at the Mercer County Extension office. During her first 14 years at the Mercer County Extension Office, Kemmet served an office support staff member while earning her undergraduate degree as well as a Master of Science degree in Child Development and Family Science from NDSU. Then in late 2005, she became the Family and Community Wellness Agent for the Mercer County Extension Office; in that role, she has worked on various topics with community leaders, healthcare agencies, schools, and the local 4-H programs in order to better the health and well-being of Mercer County residents.
