Lack of snow could cause spring flooding
So far this winter, snow has been a no show.
Janet Connolly, who lives south of Golden Valley, has been sending monthly reports to the National Weather Service for more than 35 years. According to Connolly’s records, the first snowflakes of the 2011-2012 winter floated down from the sky on Nov. 14, 2011, before quickly melting. It’s a far cry from last winter – when the season’s first snowflakes fell on Sept. 17, 2010. In 2009-2010, the first snow flew on Oct. 11, 2009.
