Leaving his mark on the community

Leaving his mark on the community

By Daniel Arens

For the last three decades, Mike Just has been the face of insurance services in Hazen.
But, even more so, he has been the face of community involvement, of active engagement in the events of his town, of finding the fun in everything and drawing it out of others whether they want it or not.
As the decade draws towards a close, so does Just’s time working at Stroup Insurance, although he will remain working with Dakota Properties for the foreseeable future. His official retirement from the insurance side is Dec. 31, when a party will be held at Union State Bank for him.
“I had thought about retiring the end of last year,” Just said. “So people knew this was in the air, we started going around and making plans.”
Just’s decision to wait a year helped ease the transition for filling such a vital role in the community. Just has been an agent with Stroup Insurance since 1988, helping people of many generations navigate the complexities of finding a policy on homes, auto or commercial enterprises that works for them.
