Legislative session affects local schools
By Daniel Arens
Decisions by the North Dakota State Legislature during the current session impact many aspects of people’s lives, including education.
During a school board meeting March 14, Hazen School District Superintendent Ken Miller spoke about some of the most significant bills currently being considered by the legislature, and the potential impact it could have for Hazen.
First, Miller spoke about Senate Bill 2013, which deals with education funding. He said there were some good things in that bill, including an increase in the money the district receives per pupil and providing funds for schools experiencing rapid enrollment.
