‘Mom, they didn’t get me’
Hazen native and former soldier Brandon Olson, 27, lost half of his right leg six years ago in the Iraq War. Get over it. Brandon definitely has. But by no means was it easy. Today Brandon, the son of Doug and Deb Olson of Hazen, is living in Long Beach, Calif. He has been in California for 11 months attending school to become an orthotics/prosthetic practitioner to help others faced with the same challenges he has been faced with. But six years ago, Brandon was relearning to walk while recovering from an explosion that would forever change his life.
