Mercer County on the outside looking in

If the forecasters are right, Mercer County is unlikely to see much oil well-drilling activity. At least not the the level of activity seen in nearby counties to the west.
Edward Murphy, state geologist with the United States Geological Survey, was in Beulah Monday night to speak to about 40 area residents about the geologic ins and outs of the Oil Patch, as well as Mercer County’s chances of seeing heavy oil-drilling activity. The forum was arranged by the Mercer County Farm Bureau.
