New ambulance, new service, and a new look

New ambulance, new service, and a new look

By Daniel Arens

New certifications and a new rig greatly expand the opportunities Riverdale Ambulance Service volunteers have for serving their area. These opportunities in turn allow Riverdale/Pick City residents to have more peace of mind.
Recently, the ambulance service received its second rig. Prior to this, Riverdale Ambulance was a Basic Life Support (BLS) service, operating a single ambulance with limited capabilities for what they could do.
Now, however, the ambulance service has updated its classification to Advanced Life Support (ALS), with three paramedics, three paramedic students, two advanced emergency medical technicians (EMTs), about five basic EMTs and around a half dozen drivers.
