New Hazen School Superintendent approved
By LEE COLEMAN
In an unanimous vote last week at the Hazen School Board meeting, the board moved to offer a 2-year contract to Kendall Miller as the new Hazen School Superintendent starting July 1.
In the first year of the contract, Miller will be paid $106,000 with a three percent increase in the second year to $109,180.
According to School Business Manager Connie Ellwein, “at the next board meeting, they will formally approve the ‘signed contract’ from him. For all intents and purposes, he has been hired by the district to be the superintendent beginning July 1.”
In school busing news, the board approved an agreement with Power Busing to pay 50 percent of the cost to purchase and install a camera in a route bus.
