New opportunities for local meat provider

With the go-ahead from federal regulators, Hazen now provides a unique opportunity for both livestock ranchers and meat consumers in the area.
J&J Hazen Meats, Inc. received its grant for United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) inspections of its facility Nov. 29, ushering in a new phase for their facility.
“Basically, what that means now is, under the USDA, we can go out and buy local beef, local hog, elk, buffalo and sheep,” Justin Hill said. Justin and his wife Jessica are the owners of J&J Hazen Meats, a position they took over in July 2016.
“That also means people can bring in animals like that, we can slaughter it, and they can take them home,” Justin added.
