Picnic baskets and fireworks...Pure Americana

By Lee Coleman

The Fourth of July is a time for people to remember what it means to be independent and free.
It also means the time to look into the skies and enjoy the plethora of fireworks that will be exploding to celebrate the independence of the greatest country in the world.
The Hazen Chamber of Commerce will dive into the celebration Friday when they present the Fourth of July Fireworks Show at the football field of the consecutive state champion Hazen Bison.
Gates will open at 7:30 p.m. and the show will begin at dusk.
The concession stand will not be open, so folks are encouraged to bring picnic baskets and beverages for the entire family and enjoy a fun-filled night of Picnic Baskets and Fireworks.
“This is an important event to celebrate our nation’s independence,” said Chamber Executive Director Terri Philion. “It will give the community a chance to celebrate and offer something to the people staying in town.
“It is a great time to celebrate with friends and neighbors while you enjoy your picnic basket and watch some great fireworks. It will be a laid-back and informal celebration. We have ordered a real good custom display of fireworks from Memory Fireworks that are sure to be amazing.”
