Priority placed on policy revamp
By Daniel Arens
New Year’s is on its way, and the Mercer County Commission wants to make sure some vital policies are in place by the time it arrives.
The issues of sick leave and inclement weather have been ongoing headaches for the commission and the county in general, with different priorities and viewpoints often clashing. While the commission wanted to see more work done on the proposed polices related to both issues, there seemed to be general consensus about what they were looking for.
First readings were provided for the commission by Deputy Auditor Gwyn Bosch during a meeting Dec. 4, with Auditor Shana Brost absent from the meeting. Bosch read the policies one on a time, with the commission providing feedback on both.
