Questions remain on Cascade’s possible blocks

The Hazen City Commission is excited that a housing developer wants to make an investment in the city of Hazen. It’s the nitty-gritty details, however, that have yet to be hammered out.

Cascade Homes Inc., Bozeman, Mont., has proposed purchasing Blocks 2 and 4-8 in the Lewis and Clark Addition south and east of the Lewis and Clark RV Park in west Hazen. In the most recent draft of an Option Agreement, Cascade CEO John Dunlap proposed building 10 two-bedroom town home units in 2010, ranging from 1,700-2,200 square feet, as well as single-family units geared toward the "active adult market." The construction would be the first phase of the project, with 10 structures down from Cascade’s original intent to build 20 town homes in 2010.
