Recognizing fifty years of dedicated craftsmanship

By Daniel Arens
This weekend, Hazen will once again celebrate a tradition that has brought skilled people from throughout the area and beyond to town for over half a century.
The Hazen Craft Bazaar may be a chance to find the homemade product you’ve always wanted rather than the generic items carried in retail stores. It might be the opportunity to find unique and special Christmas presents in advance of the holiday rush.
But, whatever else it might be, it certainly is a chance to take in and appreciate the skills of North Dakotans on display, including Hazen and Mercer County residents.
The 53rd Annual Hazen Craft Bazaar will be held at Hazen City Hall this Saturday, running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. According to Myra Savelkoul, one of the organizers of the event, there are around 30 vendors who will have booths this year.
