Rushing rivers bring mild flooding

Rushing rivers bring mild flooding

While the warm weather is worth celebrating, the spring thaw isn’t always welcome if it comes too fast.
On Friday and through the weekend, the increase in temperatures did a number on the snow that accumulated in the region. But it ended up coming a little fast.
Carmen Reed, Mercer County Emergency Response manager, said the mild flooding impacted areas around the county during the end of last week. However, she is not expecting any repeat with the next round of warmer weather coming this week.
“I don’t foresee more flooding even when it warms up,” she said. “There’s just not that much snow left.”
