Sakakawea lands new lake manager
By Lee Coleman
As the summer season at Lake Sakakawea nears, the United States Corps of Engineers landed a trophy catch recently with the hiring of 20-year veteran Casey Buechler as, officially, the supervisory natural resources specialist for the Garrison Project.
In common layman’s terms, Buechler, a native of Minot, is the new lake manager.
Recognized for his diverse background with experience at several agencies and in most aspects of natural resources management, Buechler has held positions as a biologist, environmental protection specialist, natural resources planner and field manager.
