Schwehr argues for uniform county message on virus

Even with the coronavirus pandemic occupying much attention, tensions still flared over questions of authority at the latest regular Mercer County Commission meeting.
Since that meeting was March 18, prior to the shutdown of the county courthouse to the public, it almost seemed like business as usual in the building, although the number of public members allowed into the commission room at any given time was limited, and those present were asked to sit apart from one another.
Following the more serious outbreaks earlier last month, Mercer County Auditor Shana Brost sent out a letter to county employees, giving information about the outbreak and how people should respond. Her letter also noted that an employee showing symptoms of illness “may be sent home”.
