Setting a priority list essential for future roadwork

Although it was officially a budget hearing for the county Sept. 18, the public comments at the meeting often steered the discussion more on the many road concerns people have.
However, when you have limited funds, a limited amount of equipment and employees, and a two-month period of rain deluge, it becomes difficult to address all these various concerns.
During a meeting Oct. 2, the issue was addressed in connection with county commissioners receiving calls about Bay Drive Road. Like several other roads in the area, this is a subdivision road rated as “lower priority” for the Mercer County Road Department, which has many miles of road they need to cover.
