Stanton flood meeting tonight
A public information meeting regarding the Missouri River flood threat will be held at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Stanton Civic Center in Stanton.
Mercer County Emergency manager Carmen Reed will be present to provide residents up-to-date information on releases from the Garrison Dam, and what that means for the levels of the Missouri River and Knife River at Stanton.
The city, its residents and volunteers from throughout the area filled about 13,000 sandbags in a matter of a few days, while the city constructed a clay and rock dike on the southern edge of town to keep the Knife and Missouri River flood waters at bay.
