Stanton’s annual summer bash heats up this weekend

Four months ago, living along the Knife River wasn’t anything to celebrate.

But since memories of the river’s rowdy spring behavior are beginning to fade into the blue summer sky, residents from Mercer County and beyond are ready to party at the annual Knife River Days Saturday and Sunday in Stanton.

Despite Saturday as a listed start date, there are a few things going on Friday to perk peoples’ interest. At 5:30 p.m. Friday, a two-party auction will be held that will feature household antiques and collectibles at Riverside Auction along Harmon Avenue. Also at 5:30 p.m. begins a benefit for Glenn Knutson, and donators will be eligible for $300’s worth of free groceries good anywhere in the United States and Canada.
