Star 4-peats in General Excellence
Hazen Star staff returned home from the North Dakota Newspaper Association’s 126th annual convention Friday and Saturday in Williston with several honors in hand – including the distinction of being named winner of the General Excellence award in the 1,001-1,999 circulation division for the fourth consecutive year.
Individual Star staff News/Editorial awards in the 1,001-1,999 circulation division were as follows: editor Chris Gessele, second place, Reporting; reporter Kathy Tandberg, first, Reporting; Jackie Long, honorable mention, Personal Column-Serious; Gessele, third, Personal Column-Serious; Gessele, honorable mention, Personal Column-Humorous; and former sports editor Robyn Rohde, third, Sports Feature.
