Steady as she goes fits Stanton’s Coal Country Inn

When the Stanton and Center school systems combined into the Center-Stanton school system, the old Stanton Public School building was left standing.
Sometime in 2012, Industrial Contractors of Bismarck bought the building and in December of that year, construction started to remodel the school into the Coal Country Inn.
Four months later, the 91-room inn was completed and 11 guests stayed at the inn on March 31, 2013, starting a renaissance that is nearing its second birthday this March.
The management company hired was Kinseth Hospitality of Iowa and with them came Rebecca Bailey, a seasoned 12-year hospitality veteran, to serve as the new general manager of the fledgling inn.
“This is a big step,” Bailey said of the approaching anniversary. “The last two years have gone by very fast and I really like being the general manager and meeting the different people that come and stay with us. We all seem to become a family.
“I take pride in how my staff is with our guests. That’s important and a lot of our guests have said they will come back just because of the way they were treated here.”
