The ins and outs of wind industry
It’s been said many times before: North Dakota is "The Saudi Arabia of wind." It’s potential some of the state has begun to capitalize on. Mercer County may not be far behind. The momentum began building Jan. 7, when a group of more than 30 concerned landowners and county officials gathered at Hazen City Hall to discuss the potential for advancement of wind energy into the county. The gathering was spurred by an easement document for the purpose of wind energy development sent to several area landowners by Infinity Wind Power, Inc., a Delaware corporation. The document proposed a 40-year easement agreement between the developer and the landowner – and piqued landowners’ interests.
