Timeline conundrum facing Stanton bridge erosion project

By Daniel Arens
As the COVID situation continues to change in North Dakota, funding from the state for new water projects is temporarily on hold, leaving the Mercer County Water Resource Board with a difficult decision to make.
Specifically, one of the projects the water board is hoping to address in the near future is erosion concerns near the County 37 bridge north of Stanton. This project has been recommended as a top priority project to receive cost-share from the North Dakota State Water Commission, but that funding is what is on hold as the state focuses on ensuring there’s enough money to cover current projects rather than new ones.
